Navistar stops work on engine for Ford

Bring the pain. When a company doesn't stay ahead and plan for the future right you just keep getting nailed. Every single day it gets worse for Ford. Funny thing is the Lions still make money. Revenue sharing is great. No incentive to improve. Rock on boys.

In a showdown that could cause Ford Motor Co. more financial pain, Navistar International said Monday it has halted production of the Power Stroke diesel engine that Ford puts in its profitable and recently revamped Super Duty lineup.

The escalating dispute between the two companies, which was touched off when Ford sued Navistar over a contract disagreement last month, could eventually disrupt production of one of Ford's key new vehicles. read more...

Chrysler Group reveals details of union worker buyouts

photo from autoblog.com

LOL...just thought this photo was funny. They had it with an article about Chrysler Group revealing details of the worker buyout that was going to consist of a $100K lump sum for workers that had over 1 year with the company and were willing to leave the company. Don't know about you, but if I was making $30K and was only with a place one year I'd take that $100K in a heartbeat.

Hummer H2 isn't for everyone, but it delivers what it promises

Ship the construction to Mexico I guess is the plan with this thing. Get the work done for pennies on the dollar and force tons of workers to lose their jobs in the states. Don't you love big business?

Anyways it has never been a top vehicle of my choice, but I guess if soccer moms want something to run people 2007 NBA mock Draft off the road with and someone wants to drop the cash on it, then by all means...

Some people love to hate the Hummer, and I don't quite get that.

Hate the Hummer H1 if you must. It's expensive, rides rough and is a bit too wide for comfortable driving on the average road. Those factors helped keep its sales low and probably contributed to General Motors' decision to stop selling it. read more...

Jewish Dating

Yup...I'm actually going to talk about Jewish Dating right now. Why? There are plenty of readers out there that are Jewish and prefer to date other Jews. So why not help them out and introduce them to a site that is exclusively for this?

The website is easy to navigate and has plenty of pictures available to see right away on the front page. Registration is easy so it isn't a huge hassle to get started as soon as you wander over. Find men and women who are ready to date right now with a few clicks and you are well on your way to finding the Jewish singles you desire today.

Hollywood Helping Hybrids

I know everything I buy is strictly endorsed by celebrities. I cannot make any purchases with out their endorsement. Well that is n't true, and sarchastic as hell, but at least they do support some things I feel strongly about getting a message out there. This is a good one and I can't say I am against having celebrity talking heads supposrting it.

Americans, whose consumer choice is easily influenced by celebrities, are getting a healthy dose of "buy green vehicles" during Oscar week. At the Global Green USA Pre-Oscar party, several stars arrived in the Toyota Prius, which is now the unofficial "I care" vehicle of Tinseltown. read more...

Mortgage Refinancing to Relieve Some Debt

With all the talk about job buyouts and the like people are going to be hurting this year. Some will find work rather easily, but others will be relying on their buyout money to survive and then heading to an early retirement. With that mortgage still the albatross on their backs it may make sense to look for some options in Mortgage Refinance to help consolidate some debts and lower the monthly payments as they go to a more fixed income.

Ford boss to managers: Handle buyout process with care

Fun, fun, fun. All our boys are losing thier jobs. Thank you Fords for handling this with such "care". Everyone loves you so much. The company is doing awesome. Please handle Millen's buyout with care too please. Fire someone that actually does suck at their job.

As Ford Motor Co. works through thousands of employee buyouts, Executive Vice President Mark Fields sent a memo Thursday advising managers to handle the process with decency and humanity.

As the Free Press reported Tuesday, Ford had so many white-collar workers sign up for voluntary buyouts that the automaker has begun to revoke offers. read more...

Pentax Binoculars

This website that Eagle Optics has is probably the best one I've seen out there for binoculars. They have a huge selection and an easy to navigate site for anyone looking for binoculars, scopes, and tripods. Even though the prices are the cheapest around you may be interested in some top of the line pentax binoculars. When getting into the higher end ones Eagle Optics has made it easy to do with the ability to finance them on orders over $200. This is pretty unique from my experience where you have to usually drop the whole ball of cash on the counter to walk away with the best binoculars you can get.

The pentax binoculars page features an array of models from those used to capture extremely close range looks to those that you need for vast distances. The style and quality of these models are unmatched.

Readers roll out classic cars for turn in Ferrell film

The Freep is going to have a much larger collection of the submitted cards up in a couple months, but this is a story I missed out on when it was initially released. I know a couple of people that would have been very happy to get a few pics into these guys to have a chance at getting it displayed in the film. Ferrell seems to be pumping movies out left and right lately. Isn't there one out right now as well?

When we told readers last month that the makers of the Will Ferrell movie "Semi-Pro" were looking for 1970s cars for shooting that will take place in Flint, the movie production company was so overwhelmed with submissions of car photos that it had to shut down the e-mail address.

We also asked readers to submit photos of '70s-era cars to us, and we also were swamped with pictures.

Mint Credit Cards

The Mint credit card has two models that you can get of the showroom floor. The original and the MC2 which has the bottom corner chopped off and is said to be the first change to the look of a UK credit card in 37 years. For balance transfers this card offers a 0% interest rate until December of this year which is a decent time frame to get some extra debt paid down with out getting crunched with interest.

I don't know about you, but I hate to shop. I swear no one "needs" anything that I have to buy things for and it is such a hassle to try and come up with that great gift for someone that has everything. The Mint Gift Card was introduced vback in September of last year and is the solution that I would be looking for if I didn't like to shop. Works like a credit card, but is pre-paid. You can use it in almost any location so compared to a gift voucher it is much more useful. That's the other thing I have issues with too. Figuring out where to even get a gift certificate for someone. HAving something that works universally in most places is very much appreciated.

Lexus LS puts you in the lap of luxury, but it’s not a driver’s car

This is an in depth review of the Lexus LS, by Tom Incantalupo of Newsday. Lexus has always been one of my favorite car manufacturers so I obviously read through the review. Sounds like it is like riding on a cloud unless you are driving.

The flagship of the Lexus line will always be remembered among those of us with ringside seats 17 years ago as the car that taught Mercedes-Benz some much needed humility.

We can argue all day and all night about whether, as some claim, the first LS was little more than a Japanese copy of the German carmaker's iconic S-Class. But the fact is the 1990 LS was cheaper, it proved to be more reliable than most Mercedes, Lexus dealers got higher marks for customer care, Mercedes was forced to lower its prices and, most importantly, enough Americans liked the LS to make it a success right out of the box.

Need a cell phone, but not a plan?

Wirefly is the biggest cell phone seller on the web simply because they offer so many options to their customers. If you are looking to get a cell phone plan you can just go onto their site and find yourself a free phone to go with your service. There isn’t a phone you could want that isn’t going to be on that site.

Sometimes you just need a phone. Wirefly phones without plans on Ebay is the way to go here. They sell surplus phones there for very nice discounts. No sense messing around with the places that try to force you to get a plan with any phone you buy when all you really need is a phone.

Chrysler's secret comeback plan

What? An auto company resturcturing? You gotta be kidding me. Sounds like the standard catch phrase now for auto makers. This is a pretty good breakdown on the upcoming news release from Chrysler coming up on Valentine's Day.

German shareholders may be clamoring for DaimlerChrysler AG to sell off the Chrysler Group, but they won't get their wish.

Instead, a secret restructuring plan dubbed "Project X" is focused on transforming Chrysler into a smaller, more efficient automaker with closer ties than ever to its German parent company and the Mercedes-Benz luxury division.

The Detroit News has learned that the plan, to be unveiled on Feb. 14, calls for unprecedented sharing of vehicle architectures and parts between Chrysler and Mercedes, including developing small cars and SUVs together.

Mercedes scoops itself (CL 550 Review)

For those of you who are into the Mercedes line this is a pretty good review. I tend to agree with all of it in the context that the car is awesome, but they do have some very good points that it may not be the best in the line of Mercedes' models.

The only thing wrong with the 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL 550 luxury coupe is the rest of Mercedes' model line. It's a terrific car. It's just that there are better cars available for less money from Mercedes' own portfolio.

The CL 550 is technically sophisticated, powerful, opulent and stylish. Everything a top-of-the-line Mercedes should be.

Get Simpsonized

Brighten your day

Been a while since I posted some pics of hotties on here so I think i will do so today. The photos you see here have been provided by . I went a bit with the BMW theme, but threw a nice one in with a Mustang today. Enjoy...

We need something funny..

With all the terrible news I have been posting about Ford I figured I would lighten it up a bit. Gaspirtz.com has a bunch of funny ass cartoons that you should take a look at. The site allows you to use his cartoons on your site too so you can have all kinds of fun with his online cartoons and comics.

I found this one particularly hilarious:

Here's a couple more:

Historic low: Ford 4th with U.S. buyers

Ford is still in the news and they can't seem to get a break. For the first time in the long history of the company they rank 4th in total market share in the United States. This is mind boggling how a company can lose so much ground so fast. IT has been a long 5 years and it doesn't appear to be getting any better. The Ford name is becoming an embarrassment to not only Michiganders, but to the country as well.

Ford Motor Co. fell out of the top three in U.S. market share last month for what appears to be the first time since company founder Henry Ford rolled out the Model T.

In January, the same month it reported the largest annual financial loss in its history, Ford dropped to fourth with 15.2% of U.S. sales.
