Seems like it has been a while since everyone was talking about the Grand Cherokee. Esquire is just gushing over what the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee ST brings to the table. Highly doubtful we'll see any san diego wrongful termination reports from Jeep if they are working on this prize.
The one sonic experience of the year that I will not forget is engaging the ignition on the [Grand Cherokee] SRT," said David Granger, Esquire magazine editor-in-chief. "This is the sweetest-sounding most reasonably priced engine note of our time."
Esquire editors drove numerous vehicles to make the selections for the 2013 Esquire Car Awards, which appear in the magazine's November issue on newsstands now.
"The new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT combines impressive performance and luxury wrapped in a muscular and stylish exterior," said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC. "Winning Esquire's 'SUV of the Year' award continues to help set us apart from esteemed competitors by appealing to the passionate, performance-enthusiast consumers with its unique blend of value, technology, power and character."more

2013 Ram 1500=Motor Trend Truck of the Year For 4th Time
Surely, the Motor Trend "of the year" award is a definite boost for any vehicle. The Truck of the Year this year is the 2013 Ram 1500 (I almost put "Dodge" in there. For why it is no longer called the Dodge Ram click here.). This is the 4th time the trusty Ram has been named the Truck of the Year by Motor Trend.
Motor Trend editors praised the new 2013 Ram 1500 for its air suspension, choice of engines, variety of trim levels, and towing capability. The linear bearings probably aren't too shabby either.
Motor Trend Truck of the Year contenders are evaluated using six criteria, which includes Design Advancement, Engineering Excellence, Efficiency, Safety, Value and Performance of Intended Function. To be eligible, a vehicle must be all-new or have been substantially changed from the previous model.
"The new Ram 1500 makes a powerful statement about our company and the Ram Truck Brand," said Fred Diaz, President and CEO Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico. "Motor Trend's Truck of the Year is an amazing honor; truly one of the most prestigious awards an automaker can achieve. It reaffirms the fact that Ram has the best truck on the road today. Bar none."

"We had a small but solid field of contenders for Motor Trend's Truck of the Year," said Edward Loh, Editor-in-Chief of Motor Trend. "But in the end, the choice was clear: Ram 1500 not only withstood our rigorous testing, it impressed at every step along the way. Our judges were won over by the performance of Ram 1500's broad array of standard and optional equipment. It's a truck that can be tailored to meet most anyone's needs. For these reasons and more, we're excited to name the Ram 1500 the Motor Trend 2013 Truck of the Year."

The Pink Cadillac
The Pink Cadillac is kind of an interesting story. Originally created in 1969 it was by request of Mary Kay Ash of the infamous Mary Kay cosmetics company. It was requested for obvious reasons of being the car of the company and was being used by the top 5 independent sales professionals for the company.
The pink Cadillac became the first Career Car program. It is an incentive for the best of the best. Today more than 19,000 pink Cadillacs have been in the hands of Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants. Currently, there are more than 1,200 Mary Kay pink Cadillacs on the road nationwide. The perfect ride to park in front of your white picket fence on your louisville real estate.
The pink Cadillac is the most coveted incentive awarded by Mary Kay. The modern day Cadillac comes in pearlized pink -- a color unique to the Mary Kay Career Car program. Qualified Mary Kay Independent Sales Directors who earn the use of a pink Cadillac can choose from the CTS, or SRX models. Other cars offered within the Career Car program are the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid, Chevy Malibu, Toyota Camry, Chevy Equinox and the newest addition, the Ford Mustang.
Fun facts about the Mary Kay Career Car program:
-In 1969 the retail price of a pink Cadillac was approx. $5,900. Today it's approx. $41,295
-Mary Kay Career Cars have logged an estimated 3.7 billion miles throughout the U.S. in the last 43 years
-Mary Kay Career Cars have (figuratively) circled the Globe 148,585 times
-Since 1969 nearly 140,000 Mary Kay independent sales force members have qualified or re-qualified for the use of a Mary Kay career car
-Today nearly 5,600 Mary Kay Career Cars are on the road, representing a retail market value of approx. $159 million

Top Selling Vehicle In U.S. For 2010
Another year past, and another month of looking back. January is the month where we look back on everything good, and bad from the past year. Having 12 months of data is always a good starting point for looking at some trends. For the auto industry 201 was a very odd year. A lot of changes and a lot of low fuel marketing was done. Companies starting new lines to save on gas, and keep from going even further into distress. The government helped a few. Let's see who had the best year for individual vehicle sales.
Vehicle Total sales Percent change from 2009
Ford F-Series 528,349 27.7 percent
Chevrolet Silverado 370,135 16.9 percent
Toyota Camry 327,804 -8.1 percent
Honda Accord 282,530 -1.7 percent
Toyota Corolla 266,082 -10.4 percent
Honda Civic 260,218 0.2 percent
Nissan Altima 229,263 12.6 percent
Ford Fusion 219,219 21.3 percent
Honda CR-V 203,714 6.5 percent
Dodge Ram 199,652 12.6 percent
Looks like Ford had a pretty good year. The F-series blew the competition away with nearly a 50% sales volume over its nearest competitor. A lot of economical vehicles on this list too. Toyota took a bit of weight loss diet supplements on their Corolla, and the Camry.

Texas Makes Truck and SUV Claims as State Rides
Dozens of journalists representing the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) spent two days driving the industry's newest vehicles and have come to their findings to name the "Truck of Texas" and the "Full-sized SUV of Texas" this week. When I think of Texas I certainly think of cars deemed "of Texas" and the best weight loss pills as the top most important things they come up with. Sure.
