2008 Honda Fit Sport Review

Funny thing about this review is that the guy doing the review, CAREY RUSS, notes that when he finally got the chance to review the vehicle he was informed that the 2009 version would be available in the next couple months. He still felt that the need for the review was there and so do I so I concur by posting about it. Guess they were all out checking into Sea Pines rentals instead of getting the reviewers their info.

Does this mean that the 2008 Fit is a lame duck, unworthy of review?

Hardly. It's still model year 2008, the `09 won't be out for a while, and despite increasing competition the current Fit still is the premium entry in the subcompact sedan/hatchback class. full review

BMW showcases Variable Twin Turbo Diesel Hybrid Concept

BMW has intelligently combined its superior diesel expertise with innovative BMW ActiveHybrid technology in a showcase Geneva motor show concept car. The concept study, based on a BMW X5, demonstrates the unique potential of technology developed as part of the BMW EfficientDynamics program.

The vehicle description and stats can be viewed at AuotNews.com. This amazing concept has a solar sun roof that acts as an additional energy source for the vehicle’s power supply, independent of the engine. The energy from the photovoltaic units can be either stored or used immediately. Great for movers New York and anyone on long distance travel.

Danica Patrick Interview

Figured I'd start to put some more racing stuff on here so what better than an interview with Danica Patrick with a nice pic? :P

She looks good in that FHM spread. Showing that she doesn't have much need for Hydroxycut with her tight body.

Q. With the second season with Andretti Green, do you feel a lot more comfortable with the team now since you've been through it once before? DANICA PATRICK (15:00): “I do. This is the most excited I've been going into a season, most comfortable I've felt. This year I feel like excitement is sort of maybe number one to nervousness. Where normally every other year I was more nervous than anything. So I'm really excited about it. Get the whole interview here.

A Look Back at the Rinspeed Senso

A few days ago I posted about the Rinspeed sQuba. An odd car that can drive underwater. Yes. It is true. Go to the link to see it and don't forget to get a medical id if you ever plan on getting one of these oddities.

Now there is an article up at AutoNews.com that has a look back on the Rinspeed Sense complete with video. Too bad that site doesn't do very well with their scraping because they have tons of non-working links in it. So..;.I decided to pull the video over here and let you have a look at this video.

2008 Geneva Motor Show: World Debut of Rinspeed sQuba, First Underwater Car

This company called Rinspeed makes some pretty amazing concept cars. This one actually drives underwater! Called the sQuba for obvious reasons the car is based on a car driven by Roger Moore in ‘The Spy Who Loved Me” in 1977 when he dove below the waves in a sleek vehicle that moments before seemed to be an ordinary car. The only problem: The scene never really took place; it was an animation.

With the “sQuba,” the world’s first real submersible car, the movie fake now becomes reality for visitors of the Geneva Motor Show (March 6th - 16th, 2008). Rinspeed boss Frank M. Rinderknecht (52) is known for his extraordinary automotive creations. The acknowledged James Bond enthusiast and Swiss automobile visionary kept revisiting this scene in his mind over and over: “For three decades I have tried to imagine how it might be possible to build a car that can fly under water. Now we have made this dream come true.” Definetely going to require some Sports Authority coupons for this trip.

Take a look at this amazing video:

2008 Chicago Auto Show: Dodge Unveils Challenger SRT8

Let's keep the fast and the furious theme going with the Challenger SRT8. Another car that you would probably want to contact mortgage lenders to pay for in that it rolls out around $40,000.

Check out a full video of the car being introduced at the Chicago Auto Show this week to get up close and personal with it. There are actually 2 videos here for even more information.

2008 Chicago Auto Show: 2009 Nissan GT-R Supercar

This car is pretty awesome from what I've seen of it. It features an all-new 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 producing 480 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque (estimated), backed by an all-new, paddle-shifted, GR6-type dual clutch rear transaxle. Amazing. A ride in one of these is better medicine than a colon cleanse.

Nissan today announced that the all-new Nissan GT-R supercar is now available for pre- ordering at 691 officially certified Nissan dealers across the United States. The 2009 Nissan GT-R, equipped with a 480-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine and advanced 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, has a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $69,850 for the GT-R and $71,900 for the GT-R Premium model (exclusive if Destination & Handling). Customer deliveries of the new GT-R are scheduled to begin in June 2008. more

2008 Hummer H2 Review

The high priced choice of the celebrities and the rich, the H2 is out with yet another version of the popular vehicle. For those that like the off-road side you may find the loss of your cell phone signal a pain, but you will always know where you are with this vehicle.

The Hummer H2 is an impressive vehicle, in style, size and performance. The price is high, as is the fuel cost. But if you’re looking for a vehicle that will impress people when it’s sitting in your driveway, or if you definitely need a vehicle that has the off-road attributes of the H2, then this is the vehicle for you. However, you can get almost similar capabilities from a lot of other vehicles that won’t hurt your wallet as much. Full Review

2008 Chicago Auto Show: GMC Intoduces Sierra Hybrid

If you watched the best Super Bowl in years last night you probably saw quite a few ads for new hybrids. Not just hybrids, but hybrid SUVs that are going to drain your checking account up front in hopes youa re going to save money long-term on fuel. In fact the game MVP, Eli Manning was given a Tahoe Hybrid I believe for winning the award.

So on to the Chicago Auto Show and we are introduced to more and more hybrids coming out this year. A video enhanced review is up for the Sierra Hybrid at AutoNews.com as well as quite a bit of looks into the newest and best of 2008 being introduced at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show
