Early reviews of the Malibu have been mostly positive, and the general consensus is that it deserves a place on consumers’ shopping lists. Doug Schuster, J.D. Power and Associates’ executive director of global forecasting, predicts success for the Malibu but also believes the midsize leaders will retain their positions. This car has a small place in my heart as an old friend used to obsess over this car when he was in high school. A 1975 Malibu sat in his garage and he took it out about 3 times a year. Just a kid at the time and he thought it was the coolest thing on Earth. We took it out with its top down to the beach to pick up hotties and had a blast. HE sold it and put a down payment on some condos for sale several years back and runs a great rental business now.
